What makes A3158 different from conventional shapewear fabrics?→
Unlike heavier compression fabrics, A3158 focuses on lightweight comfort, soft skin contact and flexible stretch. It is more appropriate for gentle shaping and smoothing garments than for high-compression shapewear requiring firm structural control.
Does A3158 provide compression and shaping support?→
A3158 can provide gentle body-hugging support and help create a smoother silhouette. However, the final compression level depends on pattern reduction, garment construction, panel placement and sizing. A finished garment sample should be tested before bulk production.
Why is PA66 nylon suitable for close-to-skin shapewear?→
PA66 nylon is commonly selected for stretch apparel because it can provide a smooth surface, soft hand feel and good compatibility with elastane. In A3158, the PA66 nylon and spandex combination supports lightweight, close-fitting garment construction.
What should brands test before using A3158 for shapewear?→
We recommend evaluating stretch recovery, opacity, dimensional stability, colourfastness, seam performance and surface appearance. High-stress areas such as the waist, bust, seat, crotch and leg openings should also be assessed in a finished garment sample.
