A double-sided ribbed stripe fabric has a defined linear texture rather than a completely flat surface. A2283’s construction gives the fabric visual depth and a more structured appearance while maintaining the flexibility required for close-fitting activewear.
Unlike smooth nylon-spandex jersey, A2283 uses raised ribbed stripes to create visible texture and greater surface definition. This allows brands to add design interest without relying on printing, while its 25% spandex content supports flexible body movement.
A2283 is recommended for activewear pants, yoga leggings, fitted sports vests, crop tops, cycling shorts, lightweight stretch jackets and coordinated studio-wear sets. Its textured surface can also be used for contrast panels, waistbands and garment details.
Yes. Vertical placement can create a lengthened visual effect, while horizontal or mixed-direction panels produce a different silhouette. The required stripe direction should be identified on the pattern, marker and cutting instructions to maintain consistency.
Yes. Buyers can request available swatches or sample yardage to assess the double-sided appearance, softness, drape, weight, stretch, recovery and sewing performance. A finished garment prototype is recommended to evaluate seam bulk, silhouette and wearing comfort.
