Marine recycled nylon refers to nylon produced using recovered nylon waste associated with marine or ocean-bound sources. It helps give discarded nylon materials a new use and reduces reliance on newly produced virgin nylon.
Unlike conventional activewear fabrics made primarily with virgin nylon, A3880 contains 75% marine recycled nylon. It offers brands a more environmentally responsible material option while retaining the stretch, recovery, softness and coverage required for fitted activewear.
Recycled nylon can provide strength, stretch compatibility and durability suitable for performance apparel, but fibre origin alone does not determine the finished fabric’s quality. Yarn specification, knitting, dyeing and finishing also influence performance. Buyers should verify stretch recovery, abrasion resistance, pilling, colourfastness and dimensional stability through testing.
A3880 is recommended for yoga leggings, activewear pants, sports bras, cycling shorts and coordinated studio-wear sets. Its 25% spandex content and midweight construction make it particularly relevant to close-fitting garments that require flexible movement and reliable recovery.
Buyers should confirm the 75% marine recycled nylon content, GRS documentation requirements, colour, usable width, weight tolerance, stretch, recovery, shrinkage and colourfastness. An approved physical sample should be retained as the reference for hand feel, shade, surface quality and batch consistency across bulk and repeat orders.
